Why You’ll Love This Experience
This is not just a class — it’s an encounter with the beauty of imperfection.
In a serene Meiji-era townhouse filled with the warmth of wood and history, you can see, touch, and feel the philosophy of “repairing to cherish.”
Whether you wish to join a workshop, consult about your broken pottery, or simply admire and shop for Kintsugi art, this is a rare opportunity to experience Japanese craftsmanship up close.
1. Kintsugi Workshop (Experience)

Join a 90-minute hands-on Kintsugi workshop guided by professional artisans.
You’ll learn the most captivating parts of the process — joining the broken pieces and applying real gold powder for the final touch.
Each participant works on a genuine Imari ware vessel using natural urushi lacquer and 23k gold, the same materials used for centuries.
Even though Kintsugi usually takes months, we prepared a special method so you can safely take your piece home the same day.
Workshops are reservation-based, but if space allows, walk-ins are welcome.
English guidance is always available, making it ideal for international visitors.

2. Kintsugi Repair Consultation (By Professionals)

Bring your broken ceramics — our skilled Kintsugi artisans will examine their condition and provide a free repair estimate on-site.
Each piece will begin its restoration during the event and then be carefully completed at our Tokyo workshop.
Once finished, it will be safely shipped back to your address in Japan.
Watching artisans at work offers a rare chance to witness the delicate, meditative process of traditional repair.
Each consultation takes about 30 minutes and can be reserved in advance (walk-ins accepted if slots are available).

⚠️ Important Notice for Repair Requests
If you request a Kintsugi repair during this Kyoto event, the estimated completion date is February 28, 2026.
Please note that finished pieces can only be shipped to addresses within Japan — we are unable to send repaired items overseas due to the risk of damage during international shipping.
A Japanese return address (such as a hotel or friend’s residence in Japan) must be provided at the time of application.
Requests without a Japanese shipping address cannot be accepted.
3. Kintsugi Art & Kits for Sale

Admire and purchase authentic Kintsugi ceramics, all repaired by Tsugu Tsugu’s in-house artisans.
Each piece is unique — the golden seams glimmer differently under the light, revealing its own story of renewal.

You’ll also find Tsugu Kits, our beginner-friendly Kintsugi sets that include everything you need to start your own repair journey at home.
They make meaningful souvenirs that embody the spirit of Japanese sustainability and mindfulness.
Feel free to stop by anytime between 11:00 and 19:30, even without a reservation.
Browsing the exhibition or watching artisans work is free of charge.
